KAREN Stabile is making her mark on the male-dominated world of commercial property.

Since joining Colliers International Cairns two years ago, she has handled some of the biggest leasing deals on the market and achieved several high-profile sales, including the last waterfront shop at Harbour Lights, which fetched well over seven figures.

Karen started her career in Sydney, where she headed a commercial property division and managed more than $300 million worth of assets.

“I worked for a gentleman called Jeremy Alpe as his executive assistant for many years,” she says.
“They were into large residential off the plan sales and I was exposed to some very capable operators who inspired me to make this a real career.
“I like the fast pace, matching people to property, whether it is commercial, retail or
industrial, and the satisfaction that it brings along with its financial rewards.”
Karen prides herself on her professionalism and the high level of service she offers both her customers and clients.

She looks up to Colliers International Cairns managing director Stacey Quaid.

“Not only is he a wealth of knowledge, I also admire his transparency and his enthusiasm for the industry,” she says.

“Stacey is a quiet achiever who consistently produces outstanding results and is a leader in the field.”
Karen is keen to see other women excel in the industry.

“As one of the few women in Cairns that sells, leases and manages commercial properties, I want to mentor other women to do the same,” she says.

“It’s an amazing career path and I would highly recommend it.”
