“We love doing the events” Leila Kirk – Events and Marketing Manager
Salt House has become an iconic fixture on Marina Point since opening in 2009 – its Balinese inspired elegance blends beautifully with its location over the water, making it the perfect offsite venue after a long day of conferencing. A buzzing cocktail Island Bar combines with the showcase Sailing Bar – live entertainment is featured 3 nights a week and big name bands and DJs from interstate and overseas are regular visitors.
Overlooking the water, the restaurant offers premium dining featuring the best of local produce and what Australia has to offer. Executive Chef Anthony Nolan has overhauled the menu and tried to source locally, but also understands whilst our tropical climate produces some exceptional product their are other regions of Australia that can lay claim to some world class produce.
“Local wild caught Barramundi and Gulf prawns have been dazzling on the plate this year; we love doing the big events where we can feature a variety of food stations showcasing different cuisines. Next up is the Salt House food and Wine festival on Saturday August 19th, this will be out third year running it and we cannot wait to show everyone what we have planned.” Last years event attracted over 1000 people over the course of the day and has certainly cemented itself as one of Cairns biggest Food and Wine events.
